How do you know when you found the right toy?

Watch out for the wrong kinds of toys.
When I shop for a toy for my daughter, I’m not just looking for the right toy for her age, but for her personality also. I wanted to play that she’s going to play with over and over again. I’m looking for a toy that inspires active play, if the toy does all the work, then I’m guaranteed it’s going to end up in the bottom of her toy chest. This is why most of her mechanical toys and up in multiple pieces. I’m looking for a toy that challenges her, but not too much so that she gives up, I wanted to be right on the edge of her learning capabilities.
